product junkie confessions: my lip care regimen revealed

I completed my first style shoot in October. Once the images released, people began to inquire about my beauty regimen.

After a little side nudging from my photographer, I decided to put together a Sunday only, three-part series where I would reveal my current lip, skin and hair care regimens. I am kicking off the series today with what I consider to be my best feature, lips.

The Lip Scrub

I am a diehard Sara Happ devotee! (See past mentions of the brand here.) Before I started using The Lip Scrub, I made my own lip scrub once a week. The Lip Scrub comes in a variety of standard and limited edition seasonal flavors, is super emollient and delicately removes the dead skin. For fall and winter, I typically use Brown Sugar. I switch it up in spring and summer, opting for a seasonal flavor like Blood Orange or Lemonade. After each use – I scrub several times a week – my lips are soft and ready for lip balm application.

The Lip Slip

The Lip Slip: One Luxe Balm is by far the best lip balm money can buy. I am a lip balm connoisseur and I have a purse full of lip balm options; but, this is my go-to product. The Lip Slip is a rich, intensive lip treatment and is a wonderful balm to apply after using The Lip Scrub or any lip scrub. It is hydrating, feels great on and has huge staying power. I am a fan of this balm in its original pot packaging and I use it day and night. For those wondering about The Lip Slip: One Luxe Gloss – aka the tube version of The Lip Slip – it has more shine and is also very good option for keeping lips hydrated.

Tip: I highly recommend The Lip Slip as an overnight treatment. Give lips a good scrub, apply balm and sleep well. You will wake up with plump, amazingly smooth lips. Do this every night, and you will show off the season’s lip trends better than ever!

  2. I’ve never tried Sara Happ, but I’m quite a lip balm junkie myself! Some of my favorite nighttime lip balms are Dr. Lipp, Aquaphor, and Egyptian Magic. For every day, I like to use Yes to Carrots or Nivea A Kiss of Milk and Honey. For lip scrubs, I either use the ELF Lip Exfoliator or my No Good Deed Lip Scrub from Fortune Cookie Soap. Thanks for the post!

    • Thanks for the comment! I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Lipp. I have been wanting to give it a try. ELF is an inexpensive brand that has some good products. I will add their lip exfoliator to my list of must-try products too.
