Are you looking for a few good cocktails to serve during the holidays? Bar Manager Myles York, of Origin Kitchen & Bar on McKinney Avenue, has generously shared the recipes of their upcoming holiday seasonal cocktail menu for you to make at home for your guests.
John’s Remedy
2 oz. Jameson Irish Whiskey
¾ oz. Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Liquor
1 dash Chinese Bitters
Add ice and ingredients to shaker tin and shake thoroughly. Strain into a snifter glass. Garnish with lemon peel and maraschino cherry.
Seasonal Old Fashioned
2 oz. Redemption Rye
½ oz. Pumpkin Syrup*
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Pour all ingredients into a pint glass filled with ice. Stir and strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with an orange peel.
*Pumpkin Syrup Recipe – bring one cup water to boil. Add one cup raw sugar and 4 oz. pumpkin spiced butter (available at grocery stores). Stir ingredients until evenly dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Once cooled, strain with cheese cloth.King in the North
1 ½ oz. Bruichladdich Scottish Barley
½ oz. Disaronno Amaretto
Pour all ingredients into a pint glass filled with ice. Stir and strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Garnish with a Luxardo Cherry.
