Texas is the land of meat. I mean, let’s face it – we think we have the best BBQ in the country (We do!), we will fight over burnt ends, and we love to walk around the State Fair of Texas nibbling on a giant turkey leg. We love meat – and three local restaurants are ready to feed our obsession.
Here are three hearty meat dishes no serious meat lover would ever think of passing up.
Where: Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse
What: Tomahawk Steak – this 44 Farms Tomahawk Ribeye is carved tableside and serves at least two
Don’t let this photo fool you. This steak is bib, but don’t be shy. Grab a friend, pair this steak with a couple of Y. O House salads, and dig right in. You can order it however you eat your steaks – rare, medium rare, medium well (my favorite) or well.

What: Turkey Cobb Leg for 2 – comes with local greens, St. Pete’s Bleu, grapes, mustard and bacon jus
Shock and awe abounds when the dish is presented at the table. The turkey leg is served to guests whole, on a wood board – perfect for a hungry duo who enjoy ripping right into a hunk of meat.

What: Beef Rib – large enough for two, the beef rib at Ten50 is one of the largest pieces of meat you’ll find in the DFW area
