The Rustic is best known for booking many of the top – and up-and-coming – country acts in the business to provide the live music on the patio of its popular Uptown restaurant.
Uptown Dallas’ hottest outdoor concert venue will host a special Halloween Eve show on Friday, Oct. 30, featuring none other than Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandy “Pepa” Denton of Salt-N-Pepa – along with original sidekick Deidra Roper (a.k.a. DJ Spinderella).
Fans are encouraged to come decked out in their Halloween best for this special evening.
Advance general admission tickets are just $25 each for the first 1,000 tickets sold, $30 thereafter, and may be purchased at http://therustic.com/event/salt-n-pepa2015/. Day-of tickets will be $35.
With hits like “Push It,” “Whatta Man” and “Shake Your Thang,” Salt-N-Pepa’s music changed the face of hip-hop as we know it. They broke barriers and opened doors once closed to women in the genre, and, three decades later, their music has clearly stood the test of time. The women have received many notable honors, including a Grammy for Best Rap Performance and MTV Video Music Awards for Best Electronic Dance Music Video, Best Choreography and Best R&B Video.
The sassy, old school artists put out a total of five albums and disbanded in 1999, reuniting to collaborate with R&B group En Vogue for “Whatta Man” almost 10 years later.
“Salt-N-Pepa brought down the house last year when they performed at The Rustic, so we couldn’t wait to bring them back,” said Kyle Noonan, co-founder and owner of FreeRange Concepts, which operates The Rustic and other innovative restaurant concepts. “The ladies are excited about being here the night before Halloween, and we’re looking forward to seeing lots of costumed characters come out of the woodwork to kick it old school!”
