It’s time to talk hair care!

Hair care is really personal – everyone has different goals for their hair and they seek to use products to give the desired results. Some want thicker hair. Some want more volume. Some want more length. I want straight, sleek and healthy hair.

I choose not to be #teamnatural. Every 6-8 weeks I use a straightener. Over the years I have used many straighteners, but have found Mizani to be the best for my hair.

Currently I am using their Butter Blend HG Relaxer System in normal. This system is fortified with the brands signature blend of cocoa butter, shea butter and honey – it conditions and protects hair while it straightens. I follow this up with their Balance Hair Bath Neutralizing and Chelating Shampoo. This product restores pH balance, removes mineral deposits and moisturizes hair with cocoa butter, shea butter and honey.

I have fallen in love with argan oil, aka Liquid Gold! It doesn’t weigh hair down, the benefits are huge and every hair type can use it. For general hair care I am currently using the Creme of Nature Argan Oil Collection. I am fond of the Moisture and Shine Shampoo. It’s sulfate-free, moisturizing and detangles. I follow this up with the Intensive Conditioning Treatment to infuse more moisture and protective agents into my hair. Finally, I use the Strength & Shine Leave In Conditioner – a two-part, shake to activate, styling aid that moisturizes chemically treated hair, detangles and protects hair from heat. Then I dry and style as desired.

Other treatments I do help to add moisture and strength to my hair or…eliminate grays.

Weekly I use Caviar Overnight Hair Rescue from Alterna Hair Care. This product is great because you apply it the night and it does all the work while you sleep. When I rinse this out and follow my general regimen, my hair is so soft and silky. This product is great for all hair types.

I am proud to be 35 years old but this premature gray thing is not for me. Every 6-8 weeks I use a demi-permenent hair color in either medium brown or natural black from Clairol. I have never used permanent color on my hair and never will…this product covers the grays well and because it only deposits color on the hair, this product can be used right after straightening.
