We are on the cusp of the The Makeup Show taking Dallas by storm!

Enjoy my interview with James Vincent, Director of Artistry and Education, to get the scoop on the celebrities he has worked with, his favorite products and the must-attend workshop this weekend.

Pop Goes the City: Tell me about your role as Director of Artistry and Education with The Makeup Show.

James Vincent: As an artist and director I work with Shelly Taggar and our team to develop the education that suits the needs of the artists in every market. I help to ensure that the show speaks to the pros and provides opportunities for education and inspiration.

PGTC: Celebrities really help to highlight beauty trends. Who are some of the celebrities you have had the pleasure to work with, and; what beauty trends have you introduced them to?

JV: I have some great celebrities. Some like Joan Jett and Florence Welch who set trends. Recently I’ve been working with a new project, called Ardency Inn as Creative Director, where I work with up and coming and established musicians like SOS and The Dum Dum Girls. We develop trends based on their music and bring it to the masses through our presence in Sephora. WWD named us Newcomer of the Year for Prestige.

PGTC: What are some of your favorite products that attendees can find at The Makeup Show Dallas?

JV: I have so many. Staples like Embryolisse Lait Creme, Kevyn Aucoin Skin Enhancer and Make Up For Ever Flash Color that should be a basis for every kit. I have my personal must haves like NARS The Multiple and Stila Convertible color or Temptu Airbrow. And my new favorites are Senna Brow Book, Kevyn Aucoin The Brow Pencil and OCC Lip Tar Mattes.

PGTC: I know there will be several great beauty workshops at The Makeup Show Dallas. Which workshop would you suggest attendees not miss?

JV: I think the Perfect Beauty Workshop is ideal if I have to pick one. It is everything you need to perfect your makeup and make your artistry editorial quality for any situation.
