Southern Methodist University’s Alpha Chi Omega chapter and its Dallas alumnae chapter host its 6th annual Alpha Chi Couture fashion show and silent auction – 7 pm, Friday, November 8th at the Tower Club Dallas 1601 Elm St, Dallas, TX, 75201.
The event, hosted by Dallas fashion icon Jan Strimple, benefits the Genesis Women’s Shelter and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation and aims to raise awareness about the prevalence of domestic violence.
“One in every four women fall victim to domestic violence, which means one in every four of my friends and sisters will become part of that statistic,” said Joy Xac, Alpha Chi Couture collegiate chair. “I have an opportunity to protect the ones that I love and those in my community. Who could say no to a chance like that?”
This year’s theme – “Around Town” – showcases fashions tied to neighborhoods of Dallas from Uptown to Downtown, Deep Ellum to Highland Park. Collegiate men and women from SMU and area Alpha Chi Omega alumnae will model apparel from TOOTSIES, ZAR Clothier, WAREhaus and Beretta Gallery fashions.
Over the last six years, Alpha Chi Couture has raised over $200,000 to help the Genesis Women’s Shelter provide shelter and services to over 2,000 women and children fleeing domestic violence.
I am very excited to attend this event. Please come out to support the generous efforts of Alpha Chi Omega and the hard work of Genesis Women’s Shelter. Tickets are $75 for adults and $20 for SMU students/faculty. Tickets can be purchased online the Alpha Chi Couture website or at the event.
