North Texas has a new fitness boutique in town!
Flywheel Sports, the innovative indoor cycling brand, first arrived in Texas in 2012 with the opening of a Highland Park location and expanded in January 2013 with a second Dallas-area location in Plano.
Flywheel is a high-energy, calorie burning indoor stadium cycling exercise experience that lasts 45 or 60 minutes with climbs, descents and upper-body work with a weighted bar.
I attended the media preview of their new class, FlyBarre, yesterday morning.
Plano is the first Texas location to implement FlyBarre, a total body sculpting class that offers a blend of dance, light weight training and core strengthening exercises. Using small intense interval exercises choreographed to contemporary and inspiring music, FlyBarre quickly reshapes the body for lean, strong, and elongated muscles.
“Are you coming to pulse with me?!”, Kara Liotta, Co-Director of FlyBarre at Flywheel enthusiastically said to me as I walked into the studio. Increased cardio and pulsating movements are what make the FlyBarre class at Flywheel so unique…and the result is a much more effective workout. Liotta really put us to the test as our instructor yesterday and I am feeling it! OUCH! 🙂
Are you ready to fly?! The Plano location is hosting an open house with free FlyBarre and Flywheel classes from September 23rd to September 29th. Be sure to call 214-865-7261 or email plano@flywheelsports.com to reserve a spot in a class. The Plano studio is located at 5964 W. Parker Rd. Suite 100 Plano, TX 75093 and offers early morning, afternoon and evening classes to accommodate any schedule.
FlyBarre was a challenge but it was great fun! Now I am ready to try the cycling. I’m starting my birthday off right in the Flywheel class on Thursday at 8:30 am! Come on out! It’s going to be fun! After sweating like crazy, hit the fabulous Flywheel showers featuring Bliss products. Oooh-la-la!
Scoop: Flywheel is currently giving Facebook fans the chance to “Fly Free for a Year” by winning a FREE one-year membership, good for classes at both the Plano and Highland Park locations. Click here to be directed to the Flywheel Facebook page.
Double scoop: If you can’t make it out to a free class during open house this week in Plano, no worries! Visit either metroplex location to enjoy your first Flywheel class for free. Oh…and you always fly free on your birthday.
