I received several emails this week with information you guys need to know about events and other newsworthy topics.  So, I thought I would put it all in one post.  Enjoy!  Here we go…

Cityplace is a hot spot for events.  Even my high school reunion was held there.  Well, Andrew Ormsby has expanded his catering operations by moving to The Tower at Cityplace.  This “Aussie style” chef…and his staff… with take on all the planning and implementation of events at The Tower at Cityplace.

A new Tex-Mex eatery is coming to North Texas!  I am not that big on Tex-Mex…I like the authentic stuff better but…I am interested in trying Chiladas Fresh Mex Grill.  Fresh ingredients and a “no added MSG, no microwaves and no shortcuts” is sure to attract.  Want to check them out?  The grand opening is Thursday, October 11th in the Shops at Windhaven in Plano.  Get there early to be part of the “Fresh 50” promotion, a free $50 gift cards to the first 50 diners on grand opening day!

October 11th is a hot day for fun stuff to do!  The North Texas Food Bank’s “Art in the Park” fundraising event happens that evening at Hall Office Park grounds – located at 6801 Gaylord Pkwy in Frisco, TX.  This family friendly concert will feature entertainment by Emerald City…MY FAVE COVER BAND…so you know I will be in at the event! Also, event hosts will include Ambassador Kathryn Hall, Craig Hall, and former Dallas Cowboy Preston Pearson.  Ticket prices are $30 per person and $100 for a package of four.  For those who want to roll VIP style, a limited number of VIP tickets will be available for $300 per person.  VIP guests will enjoy a private indoor reception near the stage including complimentary wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with brief speaking notes followed by the concert at 6:30 p.m.!  Guests will have the option of purchasing food and drink (including beer, wine and food trucks). All of the proceeds will benefit the North Texas Food Bank and Frisco Family Services.

Opening in early fall in the space formerly occupied by the Ghostbar at W Dallas, Cook Hall – an American gastropub – will offer a regional menu and handcrafted cocktails.  Think open and social with small-plates and moderate to higher end pricing.  I really think Dallas will like this place and I am excited to check it out!
