Plano resident and entrepreneur Michelle Lamont developed the Peanut Butter Blitz food drive to raise awareness for the North Texas Food Bank.  Peanut butter, a higher priced food item, is typically in low quantity at the food bank.  Peanut butter is full of protein, is an easy snack for kids and has great shelf life.

Saturday, August 4th from 2 to 4 pm at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, the 1st annual Peanut Butter Blitz food drive kicks off with a fashion showcase featuring the latest fashions for tweens and teens.  The kickoff is being held in conjunction with the centre and the centre will be the site of the Peanut Butter Blitz food drive benefiting the North Texas Food Bank, Saturday, September 29th.  Mark Hayes,  NBC5 news anchor,  is scheduled to host both events.

You do not have to wait until the food drive in September to donate peanut butter.  Attendees are encouraged to donate at the event tomorrow by dropping off new unopened jars of peanut butter in the collection boxes located inside the shopping center.  Also, anyone making a donation will be eligible to win a $50 Stonebriar gift card.  Come out and support this fabulous event and your community!
