When I heard that Sugar Queen Cupcakes is the home of the “Official Cupcake of Texas“, I was eager to sample their sweet delights.  Sugar Queen Cupcakes located in The Shops at Willow Bend and Stonebriar Center is a hidden gem in Collin County.

To get the title of “Official Cupcake of Texas” by the Texas State Legislature, owner Lisa Britten traveled the state as part of a baking contest called ‘Craving a Cure’.  While serving a good cause raising money for children’s cancer research, Lisa Britten’s Berry Pecan Cupcake won the contest.

I must say, I like this cupcake very much.  It’s moist and has a great berry flavor and the icing is divine.  It is such an honor to have the “Official Cupcake of Texas” in Collin County.  Go by and sample it for yourself!
