The evolution of The Shops at Willow Bend continues.

The Shops at Willow Bend will celebrate the grand opening of its new, chef-driven dining area, The District at Willow Bend, with a special event benefitting the Junior League of Collin County on October 4.

“We’re so excited for The District’s grand opening,” said Shannon Kmak, president of the Junior League of Collin County. “The JLCC is thankful that Willow Bend continues to support our mission of improving the community and developing the potential of women. We can’t wait to see the new developments unfold and are thrilled to be a part of this great project.

The ticketed event will begin at 5 p.m. with a festive cocktail reception featuring appetizers from California Pizza Kitchen, followed by a progressive dining experience with musical performances by the Georgia Bridgwater Orchestra. The following restaurants and their chefs will serve up small plates of their specialty menu items:

* Knife: James Beard-nominated chef and two-time Top Chef contestant, John Tesar will offer a taste of his premium steakhouse cuisine.

* Mexican Bar Co. Cocina: James Beard-featured chef Patricio Sandoval will provide guests with his spin on classic Mexican delicacies.

* Terra Mediterranean: Brothers Jalal Chanaa and Adam Shanaa will offer attendees samples of fresh, authentic Mediterranean dishes.

* Whistle Britches: James Beard Foundation nominated Chef Omar Flores will fill plates with home-cooked, southern comfort food.

The evening will conclude with Australian-style coffee from Ascension Annex, desserts from Neiman Marcus Mariposa and a spectacular finale under the stars.
