Overeasy and Bourbon & Banter open at The Statler – the first restaurant and bar outlets at the redeveloped landmark hotel.
Epic F&B announces the opening of Overeasy and Bourbon & Banter two of five highly anticipated food and beverage concepts at The Statler, downtown Dallas’ newly redeveloped hotel icon.
OVEREASY serves up an all-day menu of inspired breakfast, lunch and dinner items with a laid back attitude. Featuring a gourmet coffee bar, the upscale diner offers counter seating and a patio overlooking Main Street Gardens. Chef Graham Dodds, culinary director for Epic F&B, heads all kitchen operations for Overeasy as well as the additional upcoming concepts.
Dodds designed the Overeasy menu to feature artisanal fare using locally sourced products. Menu highlights include a 5 Way Deviled Egg Flight, Bavette Steak & Eggs, Cornmeal Dusted Catfish and Banana Cream Pie. Additionally, Overeasy offers creative cocktails, including the Sunny Side Margarita and Proud Mary, featuring a poblano green tomato bloody mary mix. Overeasy is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Overeasy’s website is www.overeasydallas.com.
BOURBON & BANTER, an underground cocktail lounge reminiscent of a speakeasy (hint: a password is “required” to enter), features an extensive bourbon and whiskey collection and handcrafted cocktails. Led by Epic F&B’s beverage director, Kyle Hilla, Bourbon & Banter offers a library stocked with hundreds of bourbons and innovative cocktails. Hilla, with ten years of beverage leadership experience, oversees all beverage operations at The Statler’s dining outlets. Bourbon and Banter’s website is www.bourbanandbanterdallas.com.
Inspired by the underground lounge’s history as a 1960s beauty salon, Hilla created an innovative cocktail menu reminiscent of the hairstyles of the decade. The French Twist features bourbon, Amaro Nonino, tea infused aperol and lemon; Bangs includes strawberry, sage, St. Germain, Gran Classico, Ford’s Gin and red wine; and the Pompadour is made of bourbon, vanilla tincture, Angostura, Diplomatico Exclucivo and brûlée.
In addition to its liquid offerings, Bourbon & Banter serves small plates and snacks, including a Texas Cheese Board, 44 Farms Steak Tartar, Foie-Gras Chicken Liver Pate, and Smoked Trout Dip. The lounge is open from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. nightly.
Dallas-based Epic F&B is the hospitality group for all food and beverage outlets at The Statler, managing approximately 58,000 square feet of dining space as well as in-room dining and banquet space. Additional concepts to open in the near future include:
• WATERPROOF – a poolside roof deck bar & lounge, situated on the 19th- floor, offering 360-degree panoramic views, weekend DJs, resort-style service and full bar
• SCOUT – a 12,000 square foot social space offering a scratch American menu with sharable items and craft beer on tap. Scout will feature live music, flat screen televisions, four bowling lanes, four Ping-Pong tables, billiards and foosball.
