Everyone loves to sneak a taste of cookie dough. Now kids and adults can enjoy a nibble without worrying about it being raw.

The Dough Dough, Dallas’ first edible cookie dough shop, is prepping to open a store front to offer 12 different delectable flavors.

Edible cookie dough shops are one of the newest dessert trends; and, I am so happy that Dallas is getting in on the gig. Gina Ginsburg, yes, THAT Gina Ginsburg, notable Dallas philanthropist and entrepreneur, is the driving force behind The Dough Dough.

Now, on to the question everyone has:

What makes this dough safe to eat?

Full pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour are the base of each flavor. Pasteurizing the eggs and heating the flour in the oven kills bacteria, limiting the possibility of food borne illness. Now, they still suggest that you consume at your own risk…but let’s face it, this is still better than licking the spoon or the beaters.

Recently I got a chance to sample three of their flavor offerings …and yes, it was everything!!!!

Here are the flavors I, and a few of the girls in my office, tried:

  • Original “C” Chocolate Chip – Naked original dough with Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Birthday Party – Cake Batter dough with confetti sprinkles and swirled with vanilla frosting
  • The Chocolate Grizzly – Brownie Batter mixed with dark chocolate chips and crushed Oreo pieces

The verdict?

We all loved them all…but Birthday Party was most loved! It’s super soft and melts in the mouth. I think the frosting swirled in makes the difference. The Chocolate Grizzly came in as our second favorite for its rich chocolate flavor and crunchy cookie bits. Lastly, you can never go wrong with The Original “C”! The dough, again, melts in the mouth and the chocolate chips are the perfect addition.

The Dough Dough also has gluten-free and vegan flavors. As of right now, they are operating out of a commercial kitchen in Plano, making deliveries to a very limited area. Deliveries are made within 10 miles of 75230 for $15 with a minimum of $50 order or you can pick-up from the commercial kitchen address below.

The plan is to offer custom flavors, catering and parties in the future.
