5 Lippies You Should Be Wearing Right Now

Bold, rich, beautiful lips are one of the best accessories a woman (or man) can have. (Let’s be honest, Dallasites have an exceptional flare for bold.) Check out some of the hottest lip trends happening in the city right now.

MAC Liptensity Lipstick in Cordovan ($21) is a glossy dark, red-plum with cool undertones. The lipstick glides on smooth and easy with a gel-like consistency. MAC boasts that the Liptensity collection is pigment-rich and long-lasting. I have found this to be amazingly true. Even after eating and drinking, this formula leaves a really pretty stain on the lips. You can find this product at the MAC Cosmetics stores in NorthPark Center and The Shops at Willow Bend.

ColourPop Lippie Stix in Bull Chic ($5) Believe it or not, black is still a very popular lipstick shade to wear. If you are wanting to try this trend, opt for a full on matte shade like Bull Chic from ColorPop. This formula is pigment-rich, comfortable and long wearing. You can only purchase this product online.

Sara Happ The Fuchsia Slip ($24) is luxe, hydrating lip conditioner that happens to have a gorgeous fuchsia hue. The color is buildable. But I caution that layering on too much will result in the mouth getting a gummy, over-glossed look. You can find this product locally at Bluemercury stores in Highland Park Village and The Shops at Legacy.

Melt Cosmetics Ultra Matte Lipstick in Lewd ($19) is a beautiful iridescent purple inspired by two of the brands existing products: Dark Room lipstick (which I own and love) and Promiscuous eyeshadow. Melt Cosmetics calls their lippies ultra matte, but I find that they glide on well and are not as drying as a retro matte we are all familiar with. (No shade, y’all! Just facts!) You can only purchase this product online.

Milk Makeup Holographic Stick ($28) If you have not tried the holographic lip trend, get on it quick! The best part about the Milk Makeup Holographic Stick is that it’s not just for lips. Use it all over the face and body for a deeply hydrating glow.  It glides, blends and absorb instantly onto cheekbones, eyes, lips and décolleté. You can find this product locally at Sephora at NorthPark Center.
