Mavs Foundation to Celebrate Grant Recipients at Gala

The Mavs Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Dallas Mavericks, has announced the six (6) recipients for the 2015-2016 grants and special projects, including a basketball court refurbishment, a reading and learning center and a homeless shelter computer lab.

Grant recipients will be honored at the Mavs Ball, the premier fundraising event for the Mavs Foundation and marks the return of the Mavs gala to raise critical support and awareness for the Foundation and its programs.

The gala, entitled “A Blue Tie Affair,” is presented by Smith Thompson Home Security and will offer table sponsors and guests the chance to spend the evening with the entire 2015-2016 Dallas Mavericks team, coaches and front office staff, and enjoy entertainment from emcees and Mavs broadcasters Mark Followill and Dana Larson.

Music for the evening will be provided by the Brass-A-Holics, a 8-piece brass funk band from New Orleans, Louisiana, famous for their jazzy tunes and funky renditions of today’s pop hits.

The beneficiaries for this year’s gala were selected from more than 160 applications by the board of directors of the Mavs Foundation. Recipients include Café Momentum, Dallas Holocaust Museum/ Center for Education and Tolerance, Focus On Teens, Kids U, Metrocrest Services, Parker’s Park in West, TX and Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County.
