Mavs NBA 101 for Women

What is NBA 101 for Women, you ask? It is an exclusive event to learn the fundamentals of basketball in a fun and interactive atmosphere. In intimate small groups, attendees were able to experience an interactive 9 station course providing the basics on topics including offensive and defensive sets as well as insider knowledge on player development and front office positions.

A question and answer session with Coach Carlisle and meet and greet with Mavs players Wesley Matthews and Justin Anderson were a true highlight for ladies interested in asking probing questions about what’s in store for the 2015-2016 season.

Justin Anderson, Mavs rookie, on his excitement for the season:

I can’t wait  I’m looking forward to playing with these guys. We’ve been grinding this offseason. Of course there was a lot of excitement around the draft, but that’s over and done. We just can’t wait to kind of prove a lot of people wrong…I think we have a really great team, everyone in this organization thinks we have a really good team and we just can’t wait to go out there and compete.

Each year NBA 101 for Women is a must-attend event for many, happening just before Mavs training camp opens. This year was no different, at near sellout, many ladies reported that it was not their first year to attend.
