In its 11th year Polo on the Midway for the second time falls on Halloween. So what else would the Ladies Polo Auxiliary do but turn it into a huge Halloween party like they did last time? Chairpersons Jennifer Mathis and Carol Ann Garwood invite you to don your Halloween costumes and come out for family fun. The traditional pony rides, petting zoo, live music from Pink Couch Studios, games, raffles and polo matches will be joined by Halloween costume contests, four food trucks, a piñata for kids, Trunk or Treat with the Rolls Royce Club, bobbing for apples and Woofstock adoption dogs to play with for the day, or take home to love forever. With an early enough ending to still hit your neighborhoods for trick or treating, why not party for a cause first?
The LPA is thrilled to partner with Spirit Horse this year to help provide award winning Spirit Horse developed equine assisted healthcare to children in the north Texas area, free of charge. Children in the program include those with Autism and victims of abuse. Six Universities worldwide have labeled the results of its intervention with children with autism as both “significant” and “excellent”. The program has been very successful in restoring self-esteem and trust in children who have been abused. Many have smiled for the first time in years, reports Spirit Horse Director. LPA Founder and President, Dena Miller says of newest LPA member, “Having Carol Ann join us has been a blessing in more ways than one. She’s a hard worker, always willing to cover for someone in a pinch and now has brought us this wonderful charity that is a perfect fit for this event. I love the horse connection and having grown up a child of domestic abuse, my mission with LPA has been to help people in situations that have directly touched my life, through my family’s love of the sport of Polo.”
