Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar’s 8,445 square-foot interior is an energy-filled lodge-inspired space featuring cozy fireplaces, ledge stone, a chandelier crafted from Aspen logs, as well as amazing artwork. The 2,313 square-foot dog-friendly patio offers a dog menu, featuring grilled meats and brown rice. Multiple flat screen TVs throughout the bar and patio areas make Lazy Dog a great place to catch the game with friends.

Executive Chef Gabriel (Gabe) Caliendo has really outdone himself with an eclectic menu showcasing elevated classic all-American dishes, while also introducing diners to new flavors and seasonal ingredients. The menu is filled with made-from-scratch iconic items like the Campfire Pot Roast; insta-favorites like the Chicken Poblano with crispy tamale cakes; seasonally-inspired dishes like the Lamb Stroganoff with house-braised lamb in a rich burgundy wine cream sauce over fettuccine; shareable items like the Hatch Chile + Bacon Mac N’ Cheese; as well as low-calorie options like the Lemon-Caper Chicken and the Chimichurri Mahi Mahi. A gluten-free menu will also be available. Prices range from $8.75 to $25.95.

Handcrafted cocktails like the Coconut Mojito or the Mango Jalapeño Margarita, well as craft beers from local breweries like Deep Ellum Brewing Co. and Lakewood Brewing Co., complement the made-from-scratch dishes that fill the menu.

Scoop: I have had the pleasure to sample several items from the menu and I loved them all. Here are my food recommendations for first time visitors – Start with the Hatch Chile & Bacon Mac n Cheese appetizer. This dish is warm and creamy with a little kick. Select the Hawaiian Sticky Ribs with Umami Fries and Slaw for the main course. The ribs are crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside and the sauce is AMAZING…and not too sweet. Do not bypass the sauce on the fries! I promise you will love this! Finish with the Butter Cake (not shown) dessert. It’s moist and super delish with the ice cream and berries. As for cocktails, you must try the St. Ruby and the Coconut Mojito. You can thank me later for recommending the Coconut Mojito.
