Recently I attended the biggest one day beauty party ever, also known as the Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show at Galleria Dallas. This edition of Trend Show covered spring beauty from top to bottom – hair care and skin care to lips and eyes, and of course, contouring and fragrance.
Gilbert Vera, Nordstrom Regional Beauty Director for the South and representatives from industry leading brands, introduced trends in a dynamic runway show that featured some of the season’s hottest fashion, expert advice and products to create each look.
Under each trend below, I have included products from the runway show that were used to pull off the look. In addition, I have added one bonus personal pick for each trend.
The Trends
New Neutrals – fresh, hydrated skin with minimal color in natural shades…think #iwokeuplikethis
Show Picks
Smashbox ‘Crush on Blush’ Palette (limited edition, Nordstrom exclusive) & MAC Eye Shadow x 15 Palette
Bonus Personal Pick
Smashbox ‘Liquid Halo’ HD Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15
This foundation applies well, wears well and creates a flawless, no makeup look…truly a must-have!
The Right Bright Lip – juicy, color rich, bright lips in mattes, velvets or glosses…think corals, pinks and vibrant red glosses
Show Picks
Dior Lip & Cheek Glow & Laura Mercier Paint Wash Lip Colour
Bonus Personal Pick
Smashbox ‘Be Legendary’ Long-Wear Lip Lacquer
I love the feel and staying power of this lipstick/lip gloss hybrid. I will be rocking Beet It (above), a showstopper shade from this collection, all season long! It looks dark, but it isn’t. It’s a beautiful “vivid violet” shade.
Sculpting Made Simple – brows are defined and contoured cheekbones are all the rage with easy to use products
Show Picks
Anastasia Beverly Hills Premiere Contour & Highlight Palette & Clinique ‘Chubby Sticks’ pair – Sculpting Highlighter & Sculpting Contour
Bonus Personal Pick
Clinique ‘Chubby Sticks’ pair – Sculpting Highlighter & Sculpting Contour
I may be the only person not on the contouring bandwagon. If I choose to jump on, I will be using these Chubby Sticks! They are simple to use and blend easy.
Scents
Scents are not typically a main focus of the Trend Show presentation; however, I can never leave scents off this recap. Spring scents are rich in fruit, citrus and floral notes. Below is a personal pick I think you should consider trying this season.
Jo Malone London Nectarine Blossom & Honey
This is one of my favorites from Jo Malone London. It’s sweet and seductive, featuring notes of nectarine, cassis, honey and peach.
I love that Jo Malone scents can be blended to create a signature fragrance. What I will be blending Nectarine Blossom & Honey with this season is my little secret!
