12 days of gifting: bark chocolate

12 Days of Gifting has arrived and I am kicking it off with a sweet treat.

Katy Priore, founder of bark chocolate, is mixing up small batches of all-natural sweets for the candy-loving nosher on your gift giving list.

From Priore about the types of and origin of the ingredients she uses to create her yummy confections:

I use a high quality, GMO-free chocolate couverture. My ingredients are sourced as locally as possible… The honey and butter I use in my toffee are both from Texas and my nuts and dried fruit are from Texas Pecan. The most consistent ingredient you will taste in every bite is love! As a licensed hypnotherapist I believe that energy is transferred into everything we create, including food. That’s why I infuse my chocolate and candy with love and miracles! Everything in my kitchen is made with positive intention.

Recently I tried bark chocolate and can attest as to why the flavors below are the brands top sellers…they are all fantastic and delicious:

Tesuque Toffee: dark chocolate with honey toffee and smoked sea salt

Minty Moon: dark and white chocolate, swirled and topped with crushed peppermint candy

Secret Stachio: milk chocolate with pistachio, cranberry, and apricot

Campfire Crunch: semi-sweet dark chocolate with mini marshmallows and cinnamon cereal

Find bark chocolate at Carbone’s Fine Food and Wine on Oak Lawn Ave, Bolsa Mercado in Oak Cliff, Luxx Lash Salon and Boutique in Addison, and Pogo’s on Lovers Lane. Prices vary.

If you are wondering, my favorite flavors are Tesuque Toffee and, oddly enough, Pumpkin Spice Toffee.
