If you did not attend the Simply Stylist Conference – Dallas edition, you missed a great event jam-packed with insider information about connecting, style, beauty and shopping tips.
While there I had the chance to chat with the creator of Simply Stylist, Sarah Boyd to learn more about her and conference host, Catt Sadler of E! News Weekend to talk philanthropy, style and beauty.
Pop Goes the City: How did you get started in personal PR?
Sarah Boyd: It was an easy transition from Fashion PR. I had so many relationships with stylists, celebrities and bloggers that wanted a PR person that understood all sides of the industry and had relationships for collaborations. Catt (Sadler) was my first client and it grew from there!
PGTC: What do you love most about what you do?
SB: I love that every day is different, and that I get to choose who I do & don’t work with. By getting the opportunity to choose who I work with, makes me the happiest because I consider all of my clients close friends and/or family! We all work so much, might as well work with people you love.
PGTC: How can the everyday consumer best utilize Simply Stylist?
SB: Get daily fashion & beauty tips and interviews with tastemakers from our blog and monthly (or annual) networking via our Simply Stylist Sessions (if you live in LA) or our Simply Stylist Fashion & Beauty Conferences in LA, NYC, Dallas and Chicago annually.
Pop Goes the City: Tell me about your work with Women Like Us Foundation?
Catt Sadler: Women Like Us Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging, empowering and engaging women and girls to make a difference globally and locally. My mom, Linda, co-created the foundation after writing the book “Women Like Us: Real Stories and Strategies for Living Your Best Life”. In 2010, I founded a Hollywood local chapter and now as the International Spokesperson for the Foundation, I travel and do groundwork in countries like Kenya and Costa Rica.
PGTC: How do describe your style?
CS: Effortlessly chic, slightly edgy. I keep it simple. I love jewelry but less is more!<
PGTC: What are your top 3 must-have beauty items?
CS: M.A.C. Strobe, I mix it with my foundation and it creates a long-lasting, natural look. Kheil’s Creme de Corps, it’s the number one product that keeps my skin moisturized. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, I use this almost daily for volume. I also love the Clarisonic!
Sarah and Catt are so gracious and stylish. It was such a pleasure to meet these two ladies!
