D’Andra Simmons, Creator of Hard Night Good Morning
I love when I encounter amazing home-grown brands! Based in Dallas and created by Dallasite D’Andra Simmons, Hard Night Good Morning is a coveted aloe-vera based, gluten-free, and 100% vegan collection of skin care products, that is also paraben, sulfate, phosphate and phthalate free. The brand boasts that it is your answer to looking fresh and ready for anything the morning after a hard night. Who wouldn’t want that?!
Recently I put two products from the collection to the test…and I must say, I was very impressed.
The gentle exfoliating, antioxidant rich AM Cleanser is a great way to start your day.
This cleanser has jojoba beads to gently slough off dead skin and is ok for everyday use. It can be used with the Clarisonic, but I rather use my hands with this one.
I love the massage and exfoliation of my skin when using this cleanser; and I like to use my hands vs my Clarisonic with is product because I can control and focus the pressure better.
I love the smell of this cleanser. It has a botanical, spa quality and feel to it. It also rinsed clean from my skin. I love that. Unlike some cleaners that strip your skin and leave it tight, my skin did not feel tight after use.
If you need a weekly answer to help unclog pores like I do, you will love the Detox Mineral Masque. This is an oxygenated clay-based masque aimed at improving skin evenness and luminosity and to deep clean pores by drawing out dirt and impurities and pore-clogging oil, while strengthening your skin in 15-30 minutes.
Yes, Yes, Yes!!!
I struggle with keeping my pores clean simply because I have such oily skin. It is not as oily as it used to be but, I still struggle to insure clogged pores do not turn into pimples.
I really like the results I received with this product! Luminous, healthy looking skin makes me happy! Truth be told, when my skin really needed rescue, I used this masque twice in a week – on Sunday and on Wednesday. My skin was not dry or irritated and it works great at a spot treatment option. (My advise to you is that you use products as directed…I just like to experiment when my skin acts up. I know my skin and I feel comfortable doing this.)
Overall, I really like what these two products did for my skin. I did use the products in conjunction with other moisturizers and toners but I noticed that they fit well into the regimen I have created for myself. The products are also very affordable and attainable. This means a lot!
