The money raised by the Silver Dollar Ball will benefit the American Cancer Society and will help fund research, education, advocacy and service programs that benefit cancer patients and their families throughout North Texas. In Collin, Denton, and Dallas counties alone, 13,133 people will be diagnosed with cancer this year and of that, 4,747 are expected to die from the disease. The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer.
