I love good fragrances and when I have one on, it’s like aromatherapy to me. A couple of weeks ago I went to Saks Galleria Dallas to purchase a fragrance from my favorite brand, Bond No. 9. I have mentioned my love of Bond before; I can not get enough of the “scents of New York”.
Laurice Rahmé, founder, has done something extraordinary. If you are not familiar with the Bond No. 9 parfum collection, let me explain. Rahmé creates scents based on and named after neighborhoods, parks and other notable features of New York City. She has branched out and created scents outside of the New York City theme, like the Texas scent, Harrods (London) collection and many others. Overall, Bond is not like any other fragrance brand and the distinction starts with the flacon aka bottle.
The brightly colored star-shaped bottles are actually what caught my eye and made me pick up a bottle and smell. Once you smell Bond No. 9 parfum you are hit with sexy, fun, refreshing scent combinations that you have never smelled before. Bond is a high-end parfum collection but I do not consider it only for special occasions. I wear Bond nearly everyday and have for years. There is a scent, in the Bond No. 9 parfum collection, for everyone and for every occasion.
Last month, Bond launched Central Park West, a delightful scent right in time for spring. Central Park West is described by Bond as:
Narcissus mingled with tangy ylang ylang and a pinch of piquant pepper. A beckoning white-petal mélange— orris, jasmine, and linden—and majestic gardenia.
Central Park West is a floral scent but is not overpowering and I like that. I am not big on gardenia and I never wore it…until now. As we all know, scents develop on each of us differently so the gardenia coupled with the other beautiful notes in Central Park West actually work well for me. I think it’s the bit of spice, the pepper, that made me fall in love with it. I bought it and have worn it everyday since. People are captivated by the gardenia but also mention smelling a hint of jasmine.
If you get a moment to go by the Bond No. 9 counter at Saks Galleria Dallas, ask for Arlene or Kendra. They are so knowledgeable and know just how to help you find the perfect Bond No. 9 scent…or scents. 😉
