I am always looking for a way to give back to the community. Service to my community brings me great joy and I take any chance I can to help.
Last year I was asked by a dear friend to donate on behalf of my jewelry design company to the silent auction of the Silver Dollar Ball. Jewelry designers get these types of requests all the time. I donated and that was that.
This summer I was invited to attend the Silver Dollar Ball Launch Party at Tiffany’s at Galleria Dallas where I was witness to the passing of the torch, so to speak, to a wonderful lady and new chair, Wenter Blair.
Seeing the camaraderie and passion for what committee members were embarking on made me say I want to be part of this too. Some time passed and I was able to get some other things off my plate before seeking out Wenter to ask if I could join her team to serve and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
I am super excited about being invited to serve in an immediate need for the committee as secretary and I will be donating once again to the silent auction. Please stay tuned to Pop Goes The City for updates and information leading up to the event on May 12, 2012. There are some fantastic things in store and I can not wait to share them with you.
