Friday night was a perfect night for the Food Truck Smackdown.  Hundreds of hungry people descended on Sunset Lounge to fellowship over food, drink and fabulous entertainment at the much-anticipated event benefitting Tenfor10: Water for Africa.

The Food Truck Smackdown featured a wonderful combination: food and global community giving.  A ticket purchased in support of Tenfor10: Water for Africa gave attendees opportunity to sample beer from Stone Brewing Co., en joy the fabulous sounds of The Duo of Domino Effect and sample food from 7 area food trucks: So-Cal Tacos, Gennarino’s, Nammi Truck, Enticed Shaved Ice, Gandalfo’s, 3 Men & A Taco and Jackalope.  After sampling from each truck attendees voted Nammi Truck as Best Food, Gennarino’s as Best Concept and Nammi Truck  as Best Overall Food Truck.

I had a great time at the event, met some wonderful people and tried a few new trucks.  All in all, the Food Truck Smackdown was an amazing event that raised money and awareness of the desperate need for clean drinking water in Africa.
