Many years ago, when I began experiencing issues with the Palm Treo, I asked Verizon to send me a phone that would work. They sent me a BlackBerry.
I had been a BlackBerry user for many years until June when my Bold started getting old and having end of life issues. I was out of contract and Verizon did not have any new BlackBerry phones for sale but I needed a new phone badly. I decided to jump on the Android bandwagon with the Droid Charge by Samsung.
Due to countless issues, I had two Droid Charge devices in two and a half months. The Representative asked to send me a whole new brand, the Droid Bionic by Motorola. I had been using the Bionic for 24 days and began experiencing issues…the same issues as with the Charge. I called Verizon and asked them to put me in a phone that would work.
Tomorrow, from a local Verizon store, I will be picking this up…
Despite the recent outage, I am happy to be coming back to BlackBerry. As I have done in the past, I will do two reviews: a first impressions review and a full review after 30-45 days of use.
Through normal usage, I believe 30-45 days is an appropriate time to really learn the phones positives, drawbacks and possible areas of improvement. Given that most of the issues I have ever experienced with a phone have occurred after the Verizon 14 day return policy but before the phone hits the 30 day mark…I think it is a great review standard for me.
Stay tuned for those reviews under the @LeslieTypes tab. The first one will post on Sunday.
