@LeslieTypes: Basil Mint Lemonade

I love lemonade and I like to spice it up with savory flavors like basil and even ginger.

Try this Basil Mint Lemonade, you’ll love it!

For the simple syrup, add to a medium pot on medium heat:

2 cups of sugar

2 cups of water

As the sugar dissolves, add lots of basil and mint to steep in the simple syrup.  Stir every so often.  Once done, remove all basil and mint.  Set to the side.

In a 1 gallon pitcher add:

1 1/2 cups of lemon juice, fresh squeezed if you have it (add more to taste if you like tart lemonade)

All of your simple syrup, fill pitcher with water stir and serve over ice.

Garnish with basil, mint and lemon wedge, if you like.

Experiment by using different varieties of mint, ginger or lime juice.
