Last week, legendary high-end fashion designer Nicole Miller held an in-store holiday event at JCPenney Stonebriar Centre, where she presented the new nicole by Nicole Miller holiday collection and shared her top tips for holiday styling and entertaining.

Established in 2005, nicole by Nicole Miller is an affordable line of small leather goods, fine jewelry, sleepwear, sportswear, dresses, handbags, jewelry, sunglasses and shoes. The line is poised to bring on-trend designs to a broader audience – sold exclusively at JCPenney stores in the US and on jcp.com.

I really hate that I missed this event, but; I received advanced images of the collection. Here are some of my favorites from the nicole by Nicole Miller holiday collection:

Scuba Crop Top – $44.00 & Printed Pencil Skirt – $44.00

The crop top is still a hot item and naturally it pairs well with the classic pencil skirt. I love the bold floral and plaid print of the scuba knit.

Leather Trim Zipper-Back Tunic Sweater – $44.00

Exposed zippers are a hot, trendy accent right now and I love the addition of leather on this red sweater.

Embellished Cap Sleeve Top – $44.00

Beading, sequins and rhinestones, textured satin and see-through mesh make this a beautiful top.

The end of the year is filled with holiday entertainment – parties and social events abound from mid November until the start of the new year. Here are some of Nicole Miller’s tips for looking your best during the holidays:

– People tend to pull out their little black dress around the holidays. It’s a safe choice – but I think the holidays are the perfect time to embrace metallics or prints. It’s a fun time of year. Dress like it!

– Versatile layering pieces are key [to your wardrobe]

– Studded or snake-skin bags add an edgier touch [to the LBD]
